Chargers and Union Bank: Game Changers for Three Local Charities

The San Diego Chargers and Union Bank are set to kickoff “Game Changers” this Sunday at Qualcomm Stadium. Game Changers is a new fundraiser benefiting the Boys & Girls Club of Greater San Diego, Armed Services YMCA San Diego, and San Diego Center for Children.

Those who wish to assist the Chargers and Union Bank in their efforts to give these three charities a helping hand are invited to drop spare change in the Game Changers Change Mobile, a fun one-of-a-kind vehicle that can process and tabulate money on-the-spot. The interactive fundraising machine will drive around Qualcomm’s parking lot before the Bolts take on the Cowboys.

A.G. Spanos, the Chargers Vice President and CEO, appreciates Chargers fans. “While many people admire the Chargers for what they do, the generosity our fans will extend through the Game Changers program will make them the ones to admire,” Spanos said. “This program also offers our fans a chance to win Chargers souvenirs and an even more memorable experience that would bring them closer to the game.”

Fans who participate in Game Changers will have a chance to win a variety of prizes such as koozies and football gear signed by Chargers players, including Philip Rivers and Malcom Floyd. A few lucky ticket holders will also win upgraded seats.

Lawrence Henry, a Senior Vice President and Regional Executive for Union Bank, is excited to be partnered with the Chargers and their fans.

“The core of Union Bank’s partnership with the San Diego Chargers is the spirit of working together as a team, including our employees, customers and the local community, to help improve San Diego and accomplish great things for our city. The Game Changers program encourages those in the San Diego community to embrace the spirit of giving back to children, families and members of our armed forces to help make a lasting change in their lives.”

The Game Changers Change Mobile can be found driving around the Qualcomm Stadium parking lot before home games for the remainder of the 2013 regular season.

The Chargers and Union Bank will match all donations up to $11,000. Funds will be distributed evenly amongst the three charities at the conclusion of the regular season.
